The Tam
By Linda H on Sep 28, 2009 in Handmade
When I was a girl I used to crochet tams for my grandmother. She had me make a matching tam (aka beret) for all her outfits. She liked looking good when she stepped out. She couldn’t knit or crochet a lick, but she could color-coordinate any frock.
That tam was the first pattern I ever developed. I never wrote it down, but I knew how many rounds to make before starting to decrease stitches. I knew how many decreases to make per round so it would slant on her head just so.
In remembrance of my grandmother, I’ve been searching for knit tam patterns. And I think I finally found one.
Now to find all my odds and ends to pull this one off. Can’t wait.
